For some vacationers, summer just isn't summer without the opportunity to enjoy a good picnic or two. For visitors to Lake Tahoe, there is an abundance of places one can go that accommodate those to wish to enjoy an outdoor meal in the bright Lake Tahoe summer sun.
Picnic areas are commonplace at many of Lake Tahoe's beaches. A number of beaches offer picnic tables or covered groves, barbecue grills, and/or firepits, so that guests have everything they need for the perfect outdoor meal. A picnic at the beach means you're just a stone's throw away from many other activities, including swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, and more.
There are also several state and regional parks and recreational areas that provide picnic areas for the general public to enjoy. Like the Lake Tahoe beaches, these parks offer expansive picnic groves with tables set among the trees, barbecue grills that are available free of charge, and firepits that allow you to cook a hearty picnic lunch or supper.
While enjoying your picnic, always be sure that you're familiar with any rules pertaining to the use of grills or firepits, especially during the dry season when the potential of fire may be high.
