There are several beaches and recreation areas that allow dogs on their premises. The Kaspian Recreation area, located south of Sunnyside on Highway 89, allows dogs at its picnic area, campsites, and grill sites. Kiva Beach, which is just north of where Highway 50 and Highway 89 adjunct, allows dogs as well. The Tallac Picnic area, near the South Lake Tahoe YMCA, allows dogs, but only if they're leashed. One of the best places to bring your canine pets might be the Coon Street Boat Launch and Picnic Area, which has its own dog beach. Dogs love taking a swim in Lake Tahoe! The Coon Street Boat Launch also has a farmer's market in the summer, making it a fun destination for the entire family. Any visitor's center will have more information on having your pet at the lake.
Pet friendly lodging and vacation homes are not uncommon in Lake Tahoe. Some are located close to dog-friendly beaches and carry dog amenities like water bowls, treats, and pet beds. Bed-and-breakfasts are also a good place to ask about dog amenities; several in the region have them. You can also get pet boarding services at Tahoe; inquire at a visitors' center for more information.
