Carson City lies in the middle of Nevada's Eastern Sierra gives visitors endless access to scenic and challenging trails. Hikers and bikers will find enough trails for a lifetime of rewarding treks. - Hunting and Fishing
Outdoorsmen come from all around the world to fish for the elusive Cutthroat trout, or hunt for a chukar. Traditionally mild weather makes it a year-round affair. - Horseback Riding
You can find western adventure near Carson City, when you take off on a private or group trail ride. Some outfitters even teach “Cowboy 101” where you will learn how to ride, and how to saddle and bridle your own horse. - Parks

Hang gliding and hot air balloon rides are available throughout the year, weather permitting. Many of the hot air balloon tours include a complete champagne brunch after the flight.

Conveniently located 35-60 minutes from world-class skiing, Lake Tahoe boasts 15 alpine and nine cross-country resorts. Heavenly, Mt. Rose, Diamond Peak, and Kirkwood are all within a short driving distance from Carson City. - Wilderness Exploration
Spooner Lake is located approximately 15 miles from Carson City on U.S. Highway 28 and is recognized as one of the most diverse ecosystems in the area.
