Overview
Though Alpine Meadows is known for its skiing, the resort has many other wintertime activities to enjoy including snowboarding, snowshoeing, and tubing.
Skiing
Not only can skiers explore Meadows 2,400 acres of skiable terrain, but the resorts open boundary policy means there are many more runs available to more experienced skiers. The ski season here usually begins in mid-November and runs through May, making it one of the longest seasons of any Tahoe area resort.
Snowboarding
Snowboarders will love Meadow’s variety of runs, terrain parks, and open boundaries policy. Snowboard rentals and demos are available in the base lodge.
Terrain Park
Alpine Meadow’s “Sreadows” terrain park features a variety of obstacles including jumps, rails, table tops, and jibs to suit all ages ability levels. Skill building clinics are available.
Snowshoeing
Beginning at the base lodge, Alpine offers a variety of marked snowshoeing trails that explore the resorts neighboring forest. Equipment rentals are available at the base lodge. There's no charge to access the trails.
Tubing
Tubeville, Alpine Meadows official tubing area boasts a 300’ foot hill complete with two tubing lanes. Tubing usually begins in late December, and operates from noon to 4:30pm. The tubing hill is open Friday through Sunday, as well as on most holidays. Tickets can be purchased in the base lodge.
