Sierra at Tahoe

Sierra at Tahoe is home to over 2,000 acres of skiable terrain. The resort has a maximum elevation of 8,852’ with over 2,212’ of vertical rise. The resort also boasts 5 terrain parks and a sledding hill. Amenities include eight food outlets, 6 bars, ski and snowboard lessons, retail shops, daycare, lockers, and a telemark and backcountry ski center.

Squaw Valley

One of the largest ski areas in the United States, Squaw Valley boasts over 4,000 acres of skiable terrain, topping out at a peak elevation of 9,050 feet. The resort boasts over 33 lifts and an average snowfall of more than 450 inches. Amenities include six on mountain restaurants, a base village, children’s center, equipment rentals and lessons, and snowtubing.

  • Location: Located on Tahoe’s north shore off Highway 89, between the cities of Truckee and Tahoe City.

Heavenly

Heavenly Ski Resort is truly a land of superlatives – California’s largest resort at 4,800 acres of skiable terrain, California’s longest vertical drop at 3,500 feet, and the largest fleet of groomers in the country, with 15 Prinoth Bison Snowcats.  Amenities include several on mountain restaurants and bars, equipment rentals, lessons, locker rentals, and child care services.

  • Location: Located on Tahoe’s south shore near the California and Nevada border.

Northstar at Tahoe

Boasting over 3,000 acres of skiable terrain with a vertical drop of 2,280 feet, Northstar at Tahoe is sure to please all-comers. Amenities include 7 terrain parks, a cross-country, telemark & snowshoe center, tuning and repairs, overnight ski & snowboard check, child care, lessons, outdoor deck, warm huts, and fire pits.

Kirkwood Mountain

Known for having some of the lightest and driest snow in the Tahoe region, Kirkwood Mountain Resort boasts 2,300 acres of skiable terrain with over 2000 feet of vertical drop. The resort also offers lessons, equipment rentals, a cross country center, 3 terrain parks, childcare, and tuning and repair services.
